A Catholic presence in Georgia for over 200 years
The Rosary is prayed Monday-Friday beginning at 11:30 am followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet; two powerful means for prayerful preparation for the Eucharist. Since the Tuesday Mass has been canceled, we still have prayer in the church at 11:30am.
For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal. Two smaller meals may also be taken, but not to equal a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.
If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the "paschal fast" to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily his Resurrection.
Our parish school would like to extend a special offer to our parish families who home-school their children. Interested parents may bring their students to the school daily to participate in our special classes of Art, PE, Music, Guidance, Media/Computers, and Spanish for a small fee. This a wonderful opportunity for enrichment in a loving, safe, and VERY Catholic environment. Interested parents should contact the school office at (706)722-9964 or email Mrs. Palfy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
