Christian ServiceBereavement Ministry at Most Holy Trinity supports those who are grieving the death of a loved one. You can be involved in this ministry by: being present at the Vigil Service, the Funeral Liturgy, or the Burial Service. Sherley Bonner coordinates Bereavement. Ada Williams coordinates the casserole ministry. The three teams who prepare the repasts (meals) for the family are led by Dorothy Mitchell, Dee Ramp and Cecelia Stuhler. When a family requests food at the home John and Charlotte Sterett bring them a tray. Linda McNealy does follow-up with families by sending cards on anniversaries or holidays. Help is always needed. Sick and Homebound Ministry is a way to keep in touch with our sick and homebound. If you are interested, please call the Office and leave you name and phone number and indicate your interest. Perhaps you have creative ideas of ways to keep in touch with our sick and homebound. Please inform the Office (706-722-4944) if you someone who is sick or homebound. Catholic Social Services helps the poor in the name of all the Catholic Churches in the community and has been doing this for 38 consecutive years. CSS performs over 40,000 services each year for families in crisis. Volunteer opportunities exist in the main office at 811 12th St. to interview clients and at the Thrift Store on Broad St. to assist in retail operation. This ministry is volunteer driven. Rafael Estrada on Sunday nights at St Joseph Church, 2607 Lumpkin Rd at 6pm. Volunteers needed to mingle with Catholic Hispanics to find out if help is needed. Interfaith Hospitality Network is committed to helping low-income families in Augusta and the surrounding area achieve lasting independence. By providing safe shelter, meals, and support services for homeless families and programs designed to redress the underlying causes of homelessness. Please contact T. Bacon for scheduling and further information. Kairos Prison Ministry is a ministry of people drawn from a broad range of denominational churches. Kairos volunteers have experience in renewal movements within their churches focusing on small group dynamics, share and prayer groups, personal witness and vulnerability in Christian community. The primary objective of the three day retreat is to prepare selected prison residents for life in an ongoing Christian community. This is a new ministry at this parish. Parish Nursing is a health related ministry that provides the church community opportunity to address health-related concerns through education, counseling, support and referral while recognizing the interrelatedness of body, mind, and spirit. ProLife ministry makes the parish aware of prolife issues facing society. ProLife committee meets monthly in St. Patrick Hall to plan monthly activities and projects such as the Roe v Wade prayer rally in January, pro-life activities in October (ProLife month) and prolife publications. If you are interested, see bulletin for details on the next meeting or contact Paul Rowan at 706-650-5825. Sister Parish is Sts. Peter and Paul in Tblisi, Georgia in the former Soviet Union. Through our contributions we have assisted this parish to re-establish itself over the past 10 years. We have been asked to send a team of young adults (18-30) to spend two weeks working on various projects and to establish connections with the young adults there, who have so little hope of bright future.
